The other thing I forgot to mention is that anytime I see a highway from the perspective of a car at night, I always think of David Lynch, it's literally the number one image I associate with him -- I'm pretty sure we also see a scene like that in Blue Velvet (the "joy ride" scene) and in Wild at Heart there's another scene of the road (but that one is in the day time). There's a great documentary about him (that I think might be freely available on YouTube) called "The Art Life". In it, he tells the story of a time he was driving after smoking pot for what I think was the first time and how at one point he stopped the car in the middle of the interstate and was just staring at the white lines in the road, as though he were hypnotized by it, and then his friends had to tell him, "David, please drive".
The video of the highway at night isn't taken from the film because that would probably be a copyright violation, but that's exactly what it's meant to make everyone think of, Lost Highway. There's another reference to Lost Highway too -- the first two videos are one universe, the last two videos are a second universe, and the third video (when the ghost stove appears) allows us to transition between the two.
No way, everyone I know does that lol In all seriousness though, I remember thinking if you want to do a piece of "culinary surrealism", it would feel wrong not to reference (and dedicate it to) Lynch.
Scenes from Lost Highway? I'll grow some cayenne's for you!

I thought I was the only one who sang Eraserhead while cooking... careful with the peppers...
